We collect information when you use EasyGetPG — as a tenant searching for a PG or as an owner listing a property.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly to operate and improve the EasyGetPG platform:

• Connect tenants with PG owners directly — no broker in between
• Display relevant PG listings based on your search and location
• Deliver enquiry notifications to property owners
• Improve platform features and search relevance over time
• Detect and prevent fraudulent listings or suspicious activity
• Comply with applicable Indian laws and legal obligations
• Send service-related communications — account updates, enquiry confirmations

3. Sharing of Data

We share your information only in these limited, specific circumstances:

• Owner ↔ Tenant contact: When a tenant requests owner contact details, only logged-in tenants can see the owner's phone number. The owner receives the tenant's name when responding to an enquiry.
• Service providers: Infrastructure providers such as hosting services (under strict data processing agreements and confidentiality obligations).
• Legal requirements: When required by Indian law, court order, or government authority under the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any successor legislation.

We do not share your data with real estate brokers, marketing companies, third-party advertisers, or data aggregators under any circumstances.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services or comply with legal obligations:

• Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your account being active on the platform
• Deleted accounts: Personal data is removed within 30 days of account deletion, except where retention is required by law
• Enquiry records: Retained for up to 12 months for dispute resolution purposes
• Usage logs: Anonymised after 90 days and retained for analytics purposes
• Legal obligations: Certain records may be retained longer if required under Indian law

5. Cookies

EasyGetPG uses cookies to function correctly and provide a better experience. We use three types:

• Essential cookies: Login sessions, CSRF protection, form state — required for the site to work. Cannot be disabled.
• Preference cookies: Remember your search filters, city preference, and display settings.
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the platform — all data is anonymised. Only active with your consent.

You can manage cookie preferences through our Cookie Policy page or your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect core functionality.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following protections:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS using SSL/TLS encryption
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms — never stored in plain text
• Owner phone numbers are never exposed in public API responses or page source
• Access to user data within our systems is restricted to authorised personnel only
• Regular security reviews and code audits are conducted
• No payment card data is collected or stored on EasyGetPG

7. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) 2023, you have the following rights:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information via your account settings or by contacting us
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Right to Portability: Request your data in a structured, readable format
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing at any time
• Right to Nominate: Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity (as per DPDP Act 2023)

8. Children's Privacy

EasyGetPG is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform or provided personal information, please contact us immediately at support@easygetpg.com and we will remove the information promptly.

9. Third Party Links

EasyGetPG may contain links to external websites — such as owner social media profiles or map services. This Privacy Policy applies only to easygetpg.com. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including:

• The Information Technology Act, 2000 and its amendments
• The Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), 2023
• The Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011

Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of EasyGetPG after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email where possible.
